Ritual/Mood Music for Connecting with my Patrons
This is an ever-evolving list, of course, and I will post additions to it as time goes on. But here are some of the songs that remind me of my patrons and can help put me in a state of mind suitable for ritual or devotional work (including writing about Them). Some of these choices are very personal and I wouldn’t expect anyone else to have exactly the same list, or to agree with all of my selections.
Songs for Odin
Hagalaz Runedance, Seeker Divine
Metallica, Wherever I May Roam
Sarah McLachlan, Possession
Rob Dougan, Furious Angels
Peter Murphy, No Home Without Its Sire
The Doors, Riders on the Storm
Wagner, Ride of the Valkyries
Therion, Asgard
Goo Goo Dolls, Iris
Gramm Lou, Midnight Blue
James Taylor, You’ve Got a Friend (This is an old one, from my childhood. I used to sleep with the radio on, and it seemed that whenever I woke up in the middle of the night—especially if it was from a nightmare—this song was playing. It was years before I realized its full significance, though.)
